I photograph portraits, children, events, music, theatre and

behind the scenes work. Twenty years of it, most of that in London, originally from Melbourne and working out of north west London now.

At an event I stay out of the way. I am not going to line

everyone up against a wall. I am looking for the moment a speech lands, the bit where somebody laughs properly, the room while it is still full. People, places and the things you will want to remember, photographed as they happen.

Theatre and live music are their own discipline and I have

spent a lot of time on them. Low light, no second takes, and the picture has to carry the performance rather than just record that it took place.

Portraits and headshots I shoot on location or in a studio,

whichever suits you better. Children I photograph the way children actually are, which is rarely sitting still. And I work behind the scenes on film and television, shooting stills across a production day for publicity and archive.

My work has appeared with BAFTA, BBC Radio Three and Marie

Claire Online. I think of a photograph as evidence that something happened.
