Hackney Bread Kitchen is a sourdough bakery run by Lawrence from a dedicated baking space in Hackney. He has been baking since 2017, delivering fresh sourdough once weekly on Fridays to local subscribers via cargo bike. Lawrence also hosts regular sourdough baking courses in the bread shed, welcoming beginners through to advanced bakers. He trained at E5 Bakehouse and has spent twenty years teaching; baking combines his passion for craft with community connection. The bakery recently collaborated with Singalong Songs on weekend bread making and singing workshops for neuro-diverse participants.
