The Common Rooms is a large, multi-use venue situated below St. Thomas' Church in Upper Clapton, Hackney, near Clapton Common and Stoke Newington. Renovated in 2024, the space comprises two main areas: the Studio (approximately 140m²) and the Canteen (approximately 70m²), accommodating up to 125 people standing or up to 50 seated with tables and chairs. The venue features a well-equipped kitchen with large oven, six-hob range, industrial dishwasher and commercial boiling water tap. Facilities include accessible toilets, a lift for wheelchair users and limited mobility access, and WiFi. The Common Rooms welcomes children's parties, craft fairs, supper clubs, concerts, rehearsals, fitness classes, photoshoots, training sessions, community meals and lectures. Hire rates start from £30 per hour.
